Mirena IUD inserted yesterday...?

I have read many, many "horror" stories online about people who have, during sex, "poked" their partners with the "strings", which actually might as well be fishing wire. .. To make a long story short, and blunt for the matter, my husband is coming home from deployment soon.. like.. REALLY soon, and we want to have sex when he comes home. Plain and simple. Is there any way for me to determine whether or not he will be "poked" before he comes home so we don't have to worry about that the first night he's home?? *sigh* it'd really suck if we had to "stop" because of this IUD!! Any advice/answers on here will be much appreciated :))
