Mirena IUD causing vaginal itching/burning?

I have had my Mirena IUD for about seven months now and I have noticed a few things. First, I started having yeast (or what I thought was yeast) infections more frequently. I've had at least 3 since I've gotten my Mirena. Then, about a month ago, I went to the doctor for pelvic pain, which she then concluded that I had some kind of infection. She gave me antibiotics, I took the full course, and then the itching came back. I figured I just had a yeast infection from the use of the strong antibiotics, so the doc prescribed Diflucam. I took one that day and one a week later. I had my period then, which I haven't had in several months. I also noticed I had a patch on my tongue (geographic tongue) which I tend to get sometimes during ovulation. Once the period ended, I was back to the same burning/itching feeling. Has anyone experienced anything similar on Mirena? I plan on going to the doctor if it persists, but I wonder if anyone else has had anything similar happen. They say there is no increased risk of vaginal infections, but I really don't think that is the case!
