Copper IUD Feedback Please?

I don't have one personally but my sister does and she suffers a lot with her periods since having one. She is unable to have hormonal contraception so opted for the copper coil. Her periods are very heavy, she gets headaches and backaches and sometimes ends up in bed just exhausted. Many others I have heard from with the copper coil also talk of heavy periods and strong cramps.
